# Ở Việt Nam, những nơi đã từng xuất hiện mưa axit
So với tình trạng mưa lũ khắc nghiệt lan diện rộng thì mưa axit xuất hiện không phổ rộng. Cụ thể như sau: Đối với khu vực phía Bắc của Việt Nam mưa axit xảy ra thường xuyên và mức độ nghiêm trọng. Khu vực Cúc Phương chiếm 44%, Bắc Giang 37%, Thái Nguyên 40%, Việt Trì 30%. Đối với khu vực miền Trung, mưa axit tập trung chủ yếu tại Vinh 60%, Huế 47%, Đà Lạt 35%, Nha Trang 31%, Pleiku 32%. Đối với khu vực miền Nam cũng xảy ra mưa axit nhưng chủ yếu tại Tây Ninh 37% và Cần Thơ 35%. Các số liệu trên là số phần trăm chiếm bởi số lần mưa axit xuất hiện trong tổng số lần mưa được đo tại các trạm quan trắc.
Mưa axit gây nguy hại tới môi trường sống của sinh vật Ở những khu vực xuất hiện mưa axit thì môi trường sẽ bị phá hủy nghiêm trọng, Những tác hại của mưa axit thường thấy gồm: Gây ảnh hưởng lớn tới sức khỏe con người: gây hiện tượng ngứa ngáy, rát da khi tiếp xúc với nước mưa. Nước mưa axit sẽ làm cháy lá cây non, khiến cây suy giảm khả năng quang hợp, cây dễ bị héo úa và chết. Nước mưa axit có thể ăn mái tôn, làm xuống cấp bề mặt các công trình xây dựng. Mưa axit sẽ làm giảm độ pH trong nước, gây nguy hại tới sự sống của các thủy hải sản sinh sống trong nước.
